SUMMARY:Summer Reading Kick-Off Party
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 2025 “Color Our World” Summer Reading Kick-Off party! Readers of all ages can sign up for this year’s Summer Reading program. The Holey Rollers Donut Truck will be at the Library to help us celebrate the Kick-Off of Summer Reading 2025\, Wednesday\, June 4th\, at 1 pm. Stop by to buy a donut\, or better yet\, register for Summer Reading and complete activities at our designated stations to earn a free\, delicious Holey Rollers donut!* \nComplete Each Station to Earn a Delicious Holey Rollers Donut:\n\nMake your Summer Reading character\n(Kids: a crayon; Teens and Adults: a pot ‘o gold rainbow)\nDesign your own “Color Our World” Summer Reading tote bag to carry books throughout the summer\nLearn how to track your reading (either on paper bookmarks or through the ReadingZone app)\nGet your picture taken in one of our photo op cutouts\n(Bob Ross and a carton of crayons)\n\n\nNOTE: Donuts will be available for the general public to purchase from the Holey Roller Donut Truck. Registration for Summer Reading not required to purchase a donut.\n\nSummer Reading Program Schedule – June & July:\n➤ Download a 2025 BPL Summer Reading Brochure \nAges 3-K: Story Time & Craft: Fridays at 10:30 a.m.\nAges 6-12: Summer Reading Club — Wednesdays at 1 p.m.\nTeens & Adults: Various TBA\nCardio Drumming: Wednesdays at 6 p.m. (Bring your own gear – the Library will have a limited amount of supplies for newbies to try out) \nFinale Carnival: Friday\, August 1\, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.\nRegistered readers\, of all ages\, who have turned in at least one reading log throughout the summer\, will be invited to the Summer Reading Finale Carnival. All attendees will receive a base number of tickets plus additional tickets earned throughout the summer. Tickets can be used to play games for prizes\, may be exchanged for food\, or can be used for a chance to soak Children’s Specialist Miss Bri with a water balloon! \nReading Goals:\nUpon registering\, each reader will have a paint can placed on one of our reading boards. Each reader will also be sent home with a reading log bookmark. For every ten minutes you spend reading\, you will color a paintbrush on the reading log. Each paintbrush will earn you one sticker to place on your paint can. 10 stickers earn you another paint can to place on the reading board. Each paint can you earn throughout the summer will get you an extra ticket to use for our Summer Reading Finale Carnival or to pick prizes if you can’t attend the Finale.
