Edyth Snyder Collection

The Edyth Snyder Collection consists of 38 black-and-white photographs, cabinet photographs, and portraits of unidentified children and as well as a few group pictures, including a 1918 WWI-era photograph of what appears to be a local Czech group (Odbocka Narod Sdružení, loosely translated to “Branch of the People’s Association”) and two school group photos. This undated collection appears to be circa pre-1900 to ~1920.

Edyth C. Snyder Rife was born in Bellaire, May 4, 1904, to J.C. [John Clark] and Molly Snyder. She had three brothers, Chalmer, Ralph, and Cloyd, and two sisters, Hazel (Hapner) and Kuba (Debois). She married Alan E. Rife (Dec. 21, 1902-Oct. 23, 1973), also of Bellaire, Dec. 22, 1924.
