In-Library Access Only

AncestryLibrary

NOTE:
You must be using a library computer or BPL’s wi-fi in order to access AncestryLibrary Edition.

Ancestry is the largest online genealogy database in the world, providing access to over 20 billion records from countries all over the world and dating as far back as the 13th century.

The Library Edition of Ancestry is designed for public use, so it does not allow for the creation of a personal family tree. However, you can create a free account on Ancestry and make your family tree there while using the Library Edition to search, then transfer information over into your free account.

FamilySearch

NOTE:
Users must create their own free account and log in but will be able to access locked materials from the library computers or over BPL’s wi-fi.

As a FamilySearch affiliate library, BPL researchers will have onsite access to more than two billion digitized records, including 400 million images that are not currently available to the public outside an affiliate library or a FamilySearch family history center.

While anyone can access the basic FamilySearch collection from their own home computers, the additional 400 million locked images are available at BPL on the patron computers or through the BPL wif-fi.
