In the pursuit of preserving Bellaire’s rich history, the Bellaire Public Library actively collects and makes available to the public manuscripts, personal papers, family histories, photographs, and other ephemera that document our area’s past. The below collections are part of the processed collections the Bellaire Public Library holds. The Emma Freno Collection consists of a 1928 Bellaire student graduation notebook containing memories, autographed comments from class members, teachers, etc., photographed from the original notebook.
Frank Curtis Railroad Collection
This collection was donated by Frank Curtis to the Bellaire Public Library and contains numerous black and white photographs of the narrow gauge railroad chartered as The Bellaire and Southwestern Railroad in 1875, later named the Bellaire, Zanesville and Cincinnati Railroad in the 1880’s, and finally as the Ohio River
